GP Service Provision at Roslea Medical Practice, Co Fermanagh

Dr Collins has resigned from Roslea Medical Practice, Co Fermanagh, with effect from 30th June 2016.  Work is currently underway to ensure that the full range of GP services will continue to be provided in Roslea Surgery.  In April 2016, following the resignation of Dr Collins, the Health and Social Care Board (HSCB) started the recruitment process to appoint a single-handed GP to take over the contract.

Despite the post being widely advertised both within the UK and the Republic of Ireland to attract a wide range of candidates, no candidates applied to take on the contract. In view of the fact that there was no interest in terms of single-handed applications, the HSCB has been in discussion with a neighbouring practice with a view to them providing GP services in Roslea from 1st September 2016.

Patients should not be unduly concerned as final arrangements are still being confirmed.  Quality medical services will be maintained in Roslea and patients are asked to remain on the Roslea practice list if at all possible while these new arrangements are being put in place.

In the interim, during the months of July and August 2016, Western Rural Healthcare has agreed to provide GP cover in Roslea Surgery. The cover will take the form of GP morning telephone access and GP surgeries every afternoon. When confirmation of future service provision arrangements for Roslea has been agreed the HSCB will take all measures necessary to inform practice patients and the general public.
