Southern ICPs promoting 4Ts during Diabetes Week

2019-06-13

To mark Diabetes Week (10-14 June) Southern Integrated Care Partnerships (ICPs) are raising awareness of the signs and symptoms of Type 1 Diabetes.

Working alongside the Southern Health and Social Care Trust, in conjunction with Diabetes UK, the initiative aims to highlight the 4Ts which stand for Toilet, Thirsty, Tired and Thinner:

As part of the awareness campaign Southern ICPs will be distributing information to all GP practices, community pharmacies and post primary schools throughout the area.

Integrated Care Partnerships bring together healthcare professionals from a range of organisations including the local health and social care Trust, community and voluntary organisations, patients and carers, all of whom are working together to help change the way care is delivered.

Dr Mary Donnelly, ICP GP lead and Associate Medical Director, Southern Trust said: “This campaign aims to increase awareness of the presenting signs and symptoms of Type 1 Diabetes, all those concerned should seek same day urgent medical advice. “

“By simply remembering the 4Ts, Type 1 Diabetes can be diagnosed at an earlier stage. We hope together we will be able to continue to raise awareness of the presenting symptoms of this important condition.”
