Over seventy pre-registration pharmacy graduates attended a recent probity training day at the Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland, Belfast. The theme of the day was
“Helping You Get it Right” and the event was opened by
Mr Joe Brogan, Head of Pharmacy and Medicines Management, Health and Social Care Board.
The intended learning outcomes from the day included highlighting the importance of accountability and probity as well as providing an appreciation of the professional and contractual environment. The speakers illustrated these issues with practical examples of appropriate and relevant pharmacy activities.
Speakers included senior staff from the Business Services Organisation, Counter Fraud Unit, Medicines Inspectorate and probity pharmacists from the Health and Social Care Board. Those who attended commented positively on the presentations which they found to be interesting and informative.
