The four GP Practices formerly based at Omagh Health Centre have transferred to the new primary care centre situated on the Donaghanie Road at the Tyrone and Fermanagh Hospital site in Omagh.

Welcoming the opening of the state-of-the-art facility, Dr Margaret O’Brien, Head of General Practice at the Health and Social Care Board, said: “This new health and care centre will enable the local community to receive the best possible healthcare and will provide accessible, integrated services to the people of Omagh and the surrounding district.”

The Omagh GP Out of Hours Centre also relocates to the new Primary Care Complex.

Mr Eugene Dunn, General Manager of Western Urgent Care, commented: “Anyone who requires the GP Out of Hours service should continue to call in the usual way on 028 7186 5195. Members of the public who need to attend the Out Of Hours Centre will be advised to go to the new centre at the Omagh Hospital and Primary Care Complex site. The entrance to the Out Of Hours Centre is located at the Urgent Care entrance, which is to the left hand side of the new Complex building.

“Patients are reminded that GP Out of Hours services are for urgent medical conditions that cannot wait until the patient’s GP Surgery is next open. Attendance at GP Out of Hours Centres is by appointment only. The Out of Hours service is a phone first service and all patients should contact the service by phone before attending.”

The Pharmacy at the Omagh Health Centre site will remain open with the same opening hours that currently exist (Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 6.00pm). It is anticipated that a new community pharmacy will open in autumn 2017 within the new Omagh Hospital and Primary Care Complex site.
