The Health and Social Care Board (HSCB) has warmly congratulated Director of Social Care and Children Marie Roulston on being awarded the OBE in the New Year’s Honours list (2019).
Marie, who hails from the Ballymena area, is currently the Director of Social Care and Children at the Health and Social Care Board and was formerly Executive Director of Social Work at the Northern Health and Social Care Trust. She was awarded the honour for services to health care and young people.
HSCB Chief Executive Valerie Watts said this was a very fitting tribute to Marie who had made an exceptional contribution to social care throughout her career.
“This is a very well deserved honour for Marie who has been a passionate advocate for improving and enhancing social care and children’s services in all of her roles. Her commitment to putting children and all service users first has enhanced many lives.”
Maire said that she felt humbled to receive the OBE.
“I would like to accept this honour on behalf of the social work profession who, through tireless dedication and commitment, provide vital support to those in need.
“I am very proud to be a social worker in Northern Ireland.”
