GP Update: Maple Healthcare, Lisnaskea, Co Fermanagh

2017-04-10

The Health and Social Care Board can confirm that from 19 April 2017 the Maple Group Practice, Lisnaskea will provide General Medical Services (GMS) to all patients currently registered with Roslea Surgery, Newtownbutler Surgery and Dr Leary’s former practice at Lisnaskea.  The new combined practice will be known as Maple Healthcare.

The Board welcomes this latest development and wishes to reassure patients that Board staff are working closely with all staff involved at the practices to ensure the continued provision of safe and high quality clinical GP services. Maple Healthcare will continue to provide an excellent level of care to their existing patients and to all new transferring patients. In order to secure this level of treatment and care, including access to the full range of General Medical Services, it will only be possible to provide services from two sites at Lisnaskea Health Centre and Newtownbutler Surgery. The Roslea Surgery premises will be closed from 15 April 2017 onwards.

In future, we have plans for a new Health & Care Centre in Lisnaskea. It is envisaged that upon completion of this new state of the art facility, Maple Healthcare will provide GMS services from this location only. Patients will be kept informed of developments regarding the new centre.

Due to the complexity of the computer systems, for the time being, Maple Healthcare request that all patients transferring from Roslea Surgery avail of services at Lisnaskea Health Centre and all patients transferring from Newtownbutler Surgery continue to avail of services in Newtownbutler. Once all the computer systems are connected into one, patients will be able to access services at the site of their preference.

The Board would like to thank Maple Group Practice for taking on this extended service and would like to wish them well in their new organisation to be known as Maple Healthcare.

The Board would like to pay tribute and commend the efforts of staff within all four practices involved in providing safe services to their patients during this period of transition.
