A leadership development programme was launched on the 20 September 2013 to develop senior leadership capability and capacity within Integrated Care Partnerships.

The programme facilitated by the HSC Leadership Centre will support ICPs to deliver more integrated working and improved patient experience. It comprises a seven day programme run between November 2013 and September 2014 with approximately 50 participants including GPs, community pharmacists and hospital consultants.

On 19 November, as part of a two day residential session the Health Minister Edwin Poots addressed the participants, highlighting the important role clinical leaders will play in ICPs and took part in an interactive question and answer session alongside Dr Ian Clements, Chair of the Health and Social Care Board; John Compton, Chief Executive of the Health and Social Care Board; and Dr Sloan Harper, Director of Integrated Care at the Health and Social Care Board.
